Consider the resolution you’ve just made. Is there a little voice that adds a caveat, a “but”, or some other qualifier amending it?

No Television Please
Shortly after moving to New York City, my old, portable television broke down. I was in my twenties and busy exploring the wonderful, exciting place that was my new home, so I didn’t replace the television for a long time. After I did, I indulged in a cable service, and my love of old movies. What are You Missing
It is amazing how many people miss the point of a message just because they fail to read to the end of it. Case in point: I work part time for a membership association. We recently changed the location of our monthly meeting. This information (along with a link to the map with directions) was emailed to all members. It was amazing how many people showed up at the former location, just because they read the first paragraph (the monthly meeting reminder), and stopped there. Even though I had "new location" in bold red letters (and in the subject line) it was still missed by a lot of people.
